Covered by Grace

I am a young professional social worker. A young wife to my best friend. A new blog writer. A [soon to be] graduate student. A coffee barista. A young Christian women trying to figure out how to live a life that is pleasing and devoted to God in the middle of a crazy, busy and fun life. My dreams are big but my fears tend to be greater. Overtime God continues to show me how much greater [and much better than mine] His plans are for my life. The challenge is to learn a life completely devoted to Him, where my full-time job is to serve and love my Savior and were I have to ‘make time’ for other things in life and not the other way around. One day I will stand in His presence, and I will be asked to give an account of what did I do with the calling He gave me. Ephesians 4:1 says: “Walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called.” And Colossians 1:10 says, “Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” I, by no means have it figured out but I trust that He who called me will equip me for every good deed. I know that even if today seems a little ‘harder’ for it, eternity will be so much more glorious when I stand in the presence of my Savior and [hopefully] hear him say: “Well done, good and faithful servant…Enter into the joy of your master” (Matt 25:23). Steven and I, are excited (and many times nervous) to see where God will lead us. We pray he equips us to follow him wherever and however he may call us. That even if the ‘things’ He is calling us to do today seem ordinary, we may do them wholeheartedly and full of joy. We are excited for the unexpected and ready to follow where He leads. My prayer is that I can surrender all my expectations and plans for our lives and my heart trusts His plans and timing for our lives. At the end, this story is not about me, but about Jesus Christ. “For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen” (Rom. 11:36).
